Ethical rules applicable to Authors
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must vouch safe for the originality of their article and may not publish any work that might in any way whatsoever constitute infringement as defined by the Intellectual Property Code. This includes self-plagiarism. False or deliberately inaccurate statements constitute behavior contrary to the ethics of scientific publication and are therefore unacceptable.
Articles are subject to plagiarism check before being peer reviewed. Any article with a plagiarism rate exceeding 10% is automatically rejected.
Authorship and contributionship
The list of co-authors must be limited to those who made a significant contribution to the conception, conduct, or interpretation of the research presented in the manuscript submitted to the journal or to the drafting of that manuscript. All authors along with their affiliation should be listed in alphabetical order or according to their level of involvement in conducting the research or drafting the document. The corresponding author must ensure that only the appropriate co-authors are listed and that all co-authors agreed to the manuscript being submitted for publication after having seen and approved the final version of their contribution.
Changes in authorship
Any changes in authorship prior to or after publication must be agreed upon by all authors, including those being added or removed. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to obtain confirmation from all co-authors and to provide evidence of this to the editorial office with a full explanation about why the change was necessary. If a change in authorship is necessary after publication of the article, this will be amended via a post-publication notice. Any changes in authorship must comply with our criteria for authorship.
Multiple and Simultaneous Publications
Authors undertake not to submit work previously published in another journal or an original article based mainly or exclusively on work already published elsewhere. Authors also undertake not to submit manuscripts to multiple journals simultaneously.
Defamatory Language
Authors undertake not to violate the rules of scientific debate in the articles they submit or make defamatory statements that might be interpreted as impugning the reputation of a third party.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare any potential, professional, or financial conflict of interest. All sources of non-public funding used in the research presented in the submission must be explicitly named.
References
Any citation (or use of other authors’ work) must be identified as such and be accompanied by appropriate references presented in accordance with the journal’s procedures. If authors wish to refer to information obtained privately (conversation, correspondence), they should do everything possible to obtain authorization to do so from those identified as the source of this information.
Acknowledgments
Any individuals who have contributed to the article (e.g. technical assistance, formatting-related writing assistance, translators, scholarly discussions which significantly contributed to developing the article, etc.), but who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed by name and affiliation in an ‘Acknowledgments’ section. It is the responsibility of the authors to notify and obtain permission from those they wish to identify in this section. The process of obtaining permission should include sharing the article, so that those being identified can verify the context in which their contribution is being acknowledged.
Complaints and appeals
If an author considers that a decision of Rejection was incorrectly made, they may appeal the decision. To appeal a decision the author must email the Editor-in-Chief ( ijfsemor@ijfsem.org ), giving reasons why they think the decision was wrong. The appeal will be considered by a member of the Editorial Board who was not involved in the original decision. There is only one chance to appeal, so it is very important that authors clearly explain the justification for making an appeal.
Allegations of research misconduct
The International Journal of Financial Studies, Economics and Management (IJFSEM) screens all articles for plagiarism using iThenticate once received. The journal does not accept articles with a similarity rate above 10% according to iThenticate reports.
Authors should avoid all forms of plagiarism and ethical misconduct, such as: plagiarism, Plagiarism (Republishing all or part of the content of another author's publication without citing the source), Fabrication (Publishing data and findings/results that do not exist), Replication (Using data from another publication, which involves republishing an article in different languages), Slicing (Creating multiple publications by splitting the results of a study), and Data Manipulation/Inaccuracy (Manipulating or deliberately distorting research data to give a false impression).
Corrections and retractions
Authors who discover a major error or inaccuracy in their work after publication are required to report this promptly to the journal’s editorial board and to cooperate with it in publishing an erratum or if necessary announce the withdrawal of the article. Should the editorial board learn from a third party that an article already published contains a major error, it must inform the author accordingly. The author must then request that the article be withdrawn or amended or provide information demonstrating that the passage in question is not erroneous.
Access to Raw Data
At the request of the editorial board, authors may be invited to provide the raw data relating to their research. To the extent possible, authors should undertake to allow public access to their data and to retain these for a reasonable period of time following publication.
Open access policy
The Journal is committed to full open access for scholarly publications. All articles are available to all users immediately upon publication (without registration on the site and embargo period).
